SagePaw's Training!

Its easiest to hunt in Winter, the snow makes your footsteps quieter, its hardest in Fall when the dead leaves crackle.
*Stands up, flicking my tail towards the forest* Come along, we aren't going to find a rabbit or vole around here. *Starts running towards the forest* Come on slowy, try catch up with me! (Just stay here though, k?)

(K) Ohh.. *Laughs then watches you run off, jumps up to my paws and rushes off after you. Runs as fast as i can* I love the wind in my fur! It feels soo good!

*Watches you run after me, slows down a tad* Yeah! I agree, its good.

*Laughs, running faster and faster* I guess I'm part WindClan! *Races past you* Why'd you slow down? I thought this was a race?

Mm.. Okay, fine. You want a race? You got a race! *Speeds up, my long slender body helps me run faster as i seem to glide through the air as i run*

*See's that your a paw in front of me and runs faster, trying to keep up. My chest starts to hurt and i began to slow down*

Come on, we are almost there! You can do it! *Grins and keeps running, the forest comes into sight*

*Pushes my self to keep running. Soon starts picking up the pace again*

*Reaches the forest, looks at you and nods* That was superb, Sagepaw.

How? I lost the race. *Sits down, tiredly. Panting hard and struggling to breathe* Running is my weakness.

If you lost the race or not it doesn't matter. You tried, you pushed your self to keep going. A true warrior isn't always one that wins his battles. *Licks your head proudly* That was a very good race, Sagepaw.
Well.. Moving on, Lets hunt for a rabbit eh? Here are some tips, try shifting your weight around as not to be heard and stay so that the wind is blowing towards you, so that your prey won't smell you.

Really? Wow.. I never knew that. No wonder Angel made you the deputy! *Looks up at you, puffing out my chest it felt as though it was going to burst with tiredness and proudness* Okay! Sounds cool! I've always wanted to catch a rabbit! But warning, I'm puffed from running!

To hunt, you need great concentration. So maybe we should dart down to the river and quickly get a drink.

*Pads up to the crystal stream, my eyes glued to the pool of water* Drink up, Sagepaw.

*Grins and sticks my whole head in the water* Mm.. Its nice. *Drinks some water then opens my eyes and see's a fish, claws at it and it bleeds, reaches up and grabs it in my claws, slowly it dies. Sticks my head up from the water* DAD! I KILLED HIM! O_O..

*Smiles* Great work, Sagepaw. Bring it up and we can take it to the Fresh-kill pile. Now, lets get back to the forest and learn to hunt.

~~~Back at the forest~~~

*Scoops up the fish in my jaws and bounds after my dad* Can i give it to mommy? Pleaaasse! I want her to have my first kill!

Sure. I'll look after it while you practice. *Pricks my ears and grins* There is 3 rabbits behind that tree, try hunt them. But be very quiet on your paws and remember to be swift and fast because they can run, very fast.

*Pushes my fish towards Dad's paws and nods, crouching low on the otherside of the tree* *Bends my tail down, keeping it parallel to the ground* *Sniffs the air and creeps forward slowly*
*Peaks out from behind the tree and see's the rabbits, a large smile appears on my face*
*Runs out from behind the tree and pounces on the largest rabbit*
*kills the rabbit, but tumbles head over heels from its weight*

*Pads over to you* That was great! Good work. Lets hunt for a bird. Now birds are tricky, you have to keep down wind. And they have very very sharp hearing. So you must be very quiet.

Okay! *Sniffs the air, quickly scents a bird*
*Bounds into the direction of it then stops when I'm 4 tail lengths away*
*Crouches low, and creeps forward again. See's in in grabbing distance then lunges at it, kills it before it can make a sound*
*Scoops it up and pads back to my dad*

That was awesome! Very good, your a good hunter.
Now, how about i show you around the territory. *Grins and bounds off towards the Thunderpath*

*Follows you then points with my tail curiously* What's that clan, Dad?

(ShadowClan, we don't act like it though XD)
*Smiles* Over there, that's BeatClan. *Smiles and flicks my tail, looking towards the The Burnt Sycamore Tree* Lets go take a look over there.

*Follows Dad* Whats the burnt sycamore tree?

Well, Sagepaw. Its a tree in our forest territory. Not much is known about it, only that it was burnt by lightning many many moons ago. Apprentices use to train here, but instead we decided it would be easier to train in the training hallow. *Pricks my ears, sniffs and chuckles* Sage, want to test out your hunting skills? There is a squirrel, over there. *Points to a large gray squirrel with my tail* Hunt it for me.

Really? Wow.. *looks at the black tree, my eyes suddenly wide* Cool.
*Flicks tail and bounds closer to the squirrel, getting close but not to close, quickly hides behind some trees and waits*
*Gets into the hunters crouch, creeping forward slowly*
*Jumps onto the squirrel, bites at it and kills it*
*Drags it back to LeopardStride with slight effort*

That was great, Sagepaw. *Glances down at his squirrel and pads over towards the Fresh-kill pile* Once you have hunt, you drop your Freshly killed prey here. It keeps the clan well fed. *Smiles*

*Drops my prey into the pile, clings onto my fish tightly* I'm giving my fishy to my mummy.
